This wine (63% Grenache from a vineyard planted in 1926 and 37% Shiraz) is a hefty (13.9% alcohol), peppery, kirsch, and raspberry-scented and flavored wine with excellent aromatics and richness. Fleshy, soft, and round, the wine's red fruit character dominates its personality. Think of it as a very good Australian Cotes du Rhone.
