I preferred the 1989 Cotes du Rhone over the 1990, which exhibits a deep ruby color, a robust, rich, peppery, black-cherry-scented nose, chunky, medium to full-bodied flavors, and much softer tannins that give it immediate appeal. It should last for 1-2 more years. Importer: William J. Deutsch, Inc. Chappaqua, NY.
