Consistently one of the finest efforts from Moulis, the deep ruby/plum/garnet-colored 2001 Poujeaux offers notes of sweet red and black fruits intermixed with hints of figs, cedar, and flowers. Medium-bodied, with excellent concentration, sweet tannin, and well-integrated wood and acidity, it is surprisingly forward and approachable for a wine from this estate. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.
