Vista Hills- 2008 Pinot Noir Estate Treehouse, medium ruby in color, the nose displays earthy, terroir aromas, cinnamon, rose petal, and cherry. Easygoing and savory on the palate with very good depth and concentration, this tasty effort is meant for drinking over the next 8 years. Vista Hills Vineyard, located in the high-rent district of Dundee Hills (their next door neighbors are Domaine Drouhin and Domaine Serene) is a hands-on, boutique operation producing 3500 cases of mostly Pinot Noir in a normal year. Each of the Pinot Noirs reviewed here was made by a different winemaker, all in small lots ranging from 50 to 250 cases. One could question the need for 7 different Pinot Noir bottlings from these relatively young vines when judicious blending might result in more complexity and flavor interest, but Vista Hills is clearly moving in a positive direction.Tel.
