I was skeptical about the 2017 Echezeaux Grand Cru when I tasted it from barrel, but it has rounded out nicely with further élevage and performed well from bottle. Mingling aromas of raspberries and cassis with hints of grilled squab and toasty new oak, it's medium to full-bodied, succulent and fleshy, built around powdery tannins and concluding with good length on the finish.
