Another wine that has been mixed in quality is Beringer's Pinot Noir. There are now two cuvees, a Stanly Ranch and a North Coast offering. Both the 1995 and 1996 cuvees are major improvements over the 1994. The 1995 Pinot Noir Stanly Ranch actually requires a year or two in the bottle. This black/purple-colored wine exhibits a sweet nose of plum and black cherry fruit, followed by subtle spicy, toasty, oaky notes. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied and rich, with plenty of length, and light to moderate tannin. It should age well for 7-8 years. Tel. (707) 963-7115; Fax (707) 963-1735
