The 2004 Beryna Seleccion is 55% old-vine Monastell and the balance consists of near equal proportions of five other varietals. The wine was aged in 80% new, mostly French oak for 18 months. Opaque purple, the wine coats the glass with glycerin. It exhibits a perfume of pain grille, mineral, forest floor, blackberry, and licorice that roars from the glass. Opulent in the mouth, there are are layers of spicy, black fruit flavors, moderate, well-integrated tannin, and a long finish. This wine will evolve for several years but is rich enough to enjoy now and over the next 6-8 years.Importer: Aurelio Cabestrero, Grapes of Spain, Lorton, VA; tel. 571.642.0343 fax (571) 642-0505
