The 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts is closed at first, but unfurls seductively in the glass to reveal marine/seaweed scents that lend another layer of complexity to the aromatics. The palate is ripe and generous on the entry with fresh, crisp acidity. The tannins feel chewier than the Aux Brulees, yet there is a touch more complexity and nuance on the finish. Very fine.
