This perennial underachiever has turned out a smoky, classic Graves displaying notes of damp earth, sweet berry fruit, tobacco leaf, and barbecued meat. This medium-bodied, soft 2006 reveals more complexity in its aromas than on the palate. It is a tasty, pleasant claret to drink over the next 7-8 years.

Offers berry, mineral and sweet tobacco on the nose. Medium-bodied, with slightly austere tannins and a medium finish. Slightly hollow center palate, but I like the Graves character in this wine. Best after 2012. 8,330 cases made. -JS
