(fermented and aged in used French oak barriques for five months, followed by eight months of rest in stainless steel tanks; 11.9% alcohol): Light, green-tinged yellow. At once deeply pitched and incisive on the nose, with aromas of ripe citrus fruits, iodine, jasmine and dusty minerals joined by a building quinine accent. Sappy, dry and penetrating on the palate, offering concentrated Meyer lemon, Anjou pear and honeysuckle flavors that spread out slowly to saturate the mouth. Chewy and emphatically mineral in character, finishing with superb clarity and floral persistence. This densely packed wine reminds me a lot of a very serious dry Alsace Riesling.
