Two impressive efforts from Harrison-Clarke include the 2007 Estate Syrah, which reveals a dense ruby/purple color as well as a tight, but promising nose of acacia flowers, black raspberries, blueberries, and boysenberries. It exhibits a touch of graphite, good minerality, full-bodied flavors, and considerable elegance, purity, and texture. Aeration helps coax a few more nuances from this still youthful, unevolved, impressive Syrah built for a decade of cellaring. Another 1-2 years of bottle age will be beneficial.
