The 2008 Water Witch is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 2% Malbec sourced entirely from the Klipsun Vineyard and aged in 92% French oak. Toasty oak, earthy mineral, lots of spice, violets, black currant, and blackberry aromas set the stage for a large-scaled, voluminous, structured wine with layers of savory fruit, 3-4 years of aging potential, and a lengthy finish. Its drinking window will extend from 2014 to 2023+.
Mark Ryan McNeilly began his winery in 2000 and his new releases nicely display his talent as well as his penchant for fruit from the Red Mountain AVA.
