The 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Classique (70% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 10% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre) was raised mostly in concrete tanks, yet had 25% of the blend in three-year-old 600-liter demi-muids. Showing the cooler, non-sunny personality of the vintage, it gives up darker berry fruits, pepper and underbrush, and continues to sweeten up with time in the glass. This medium-bodied, elegant and pretty Chateauneuf du Pape is ideal for drinking over the coming 5-8 years.
