The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, Rossignola and Negrara aged in traditional oak casks made from Slovenian wood. This is a subdued and mild expression of one of Italy's most distinctive wines, Amarone that is known for its over-the-top intensity. The cooler 2008 vintage shows more herbal and licorice tones in front of dark blackberry and dried cherry. Spice and tobacco wrap over the finish.
