Impressive for sure, but like so many 1975s, one wonders whether it will live up to potential. Still dark in color, with only a slight amber edge, this full-bodied wine has ripe, chocolatey fruit, but also mouth-lashing, high tannins that remain dry and astringent. The 1975 St.-Pierre is a robust, muscular wine that still requires time in the bottle. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 11/89.
