The 1994 Andrus Reserve exhibits a dark saturated plum/purple color, followed by a tight nose of cedar, vanillin, and praline-tinged cassis fruit. Extremely dense and rich, with a more backward and tannic personality than even the Howell Mountain cuvee, this well-delineated, full-bodied wine will need - yes, - a full decade of cellaring. It is a 25-30-year wine, but patience is essential. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2030.
