Very dark and saturated for Beaujolais, with heavy but fragrant new-oak aromas. The palate is big and beefy, with blackberry and bubble gum flavors. A chewy, rather tannic finish ends the show. There is plenty of oak influence throughout but also a healthy undercurrent of fruit. It’s a modern wine, and a good one. But you must like oak-driven aromas and flavors. ——M.S.(11/15/2002)—— 87
