Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Talbot has a pleasant, classic nose of singed leather and game, a little muffled compared to its peers. But there is a sense of charm that I like, and it speaks of its appellation origin. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture. It lacks depth and grip but is nicely balanced with a cedar-tinged finish that pulls up short, as if to say, that's your lot. Drink now. Tasted February 2017.

There's blueberry jam and violet on the nose in this medium-bodied red, with slightly chewy tannins, a fresh herb undertone and a medium finish. Slightly hollow. Needs time to come together. Best after 2011. 27,500 cases made. -JS

Intense deep red, good intensity of fruit, slightly floral and lifted, quite meaty middle palate and good ripeness overall, good Saint-Julien for medium term.

Beautiful deep colour. Fruity, heady, spicy nose. Pleasant fruity, spicy mouthfeel, supple tannins, lovely aromatic persistency. A pleasurable wine which will soon be ready to drink.

With smoky aromas, sweet fruit and soft tannins, this is a wine that is developing well, but quickly. It offers juicy black berry fruits, rounded texture and bright finishing acidity.——R.V.(4/1/2010)—— 89
