There are two barrels of the 2016 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes, one in a new barrel and then racked into a two-year old, the other remaining in a two-year-old barrel for the entirety of its élevage. This offers one of the most enticing aromatics from the domaine with beautifully defined wild strawberry, redcurrant and mineral scents, orange zest joining the fray after a few moments. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity, commendable density with a precise finish. Excellent.
