The white wines begin with the 2008 Alanda Blanco made from a blend of 34% Godello, 33% Dona Blanca, and 33% Treixadura with the grapes sourced from all 3 districts of Monterrei. It was fermented and raised in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation. Medium straw-colored, it displays an enticing aromatic array of minerals, spring flowers, melon, citrus, and fennel. On the palate it has outstanding volume, lots of flavor, vibrant acidity, and a lengthy, refreshing finish. Quinta de Muradella, located in the town of Verin in the Monterrei DO, is a garage winery where proprietor Jose Luis Mateo and Raul Perez make wine from 34 unique, certified organic, parcels. A principal purpose of the project is to relate the history of the region through the wines.
