The 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is a year in, year out outstanding white that does everything right. Made form 60% Clairette and 40% Roussanne all from the Les Serres lieu-dit in the southern portion of the appellation, it offers lively, racy notes of lemon, spice melon, honeysuckle and mint to go with a medium-bodied, beautifully textured style on the palate. Drink it any time over the coming 3-5 years. One of the top whites made in the southern Rh?ne is Ferrando’s old vine Clairette release, which is bottled only in magnum.
