I was astounded by the power, complexity, concentration, and magnificent length of the 1997 Riesling Schoenenbourg. Medium-to-full-bodied, it has the texture and depth of fruit of a first rate red wine. This cherry, raspberry, cassis, chalk, and baked peach-flavored offering is well-balanced, lively, yet fat and deeply ripe. Projected maturity: now-2010.
