Tasted at the vertical retrospective at the property. The 2009 Chateau Dauzac, a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot, has a powerful bouquet with blackcurrant pastille, blueberry, violet and fine mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite savoury in style, bestowed with more assertive tannin than the 2010, albeit without quite the same level of finesse. Nevertheless, this is an impressive Dauzac that is brimming with vitality and its more corpulent nature will win many fans - including myself. Give it 3-4 years in bottle to get the most from this Margaux. Tasted June 2015.
