Tasted at the vertical retrospective at the property. The 2011 Chateau Dauzac, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, is actually not dissimilar to the 2010, albeit with less intensity and drive. This is nicely detailed and it gradually unveils attractive blackberry and subtle violet scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is satisfactory weight here for a 2011, perhaps not the finesse or mineralité of the previous vintage, but there is appreciable length on the lightly spiced finish. Enjoy this over the next 15 years. Tasted June 2015.
