The 2001 Barolo Arborina shows a dark ruby, with a captivating, sweet nose of spices and minerals. On the palate it reveals darker flavors than the normale, with plenty of ripe fruit and sensations of dark raspberry and plums. Full-bodied and structured, with a very long finish, it will benefit from some bottle age and drink well to at least age 20. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021.
