The "house blend" of Meursault Casse Tete and Meursault Murgers is outstanding. Javillier decided to bottle his entire production of Meursault Tete de Murger in September, foregoing the production of a "Mise Speciale", as he felt the wine would not improve with extended barrel aging. It displays intense ripe pear and lees aromas, as well as a rich, oily-textured, and medium-to-full-bodied character. Its flavor profile offers dense layers of sweet white fruits, flint, smoke, and loads of spices that linger in its exceedingly long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2005.
