The 2010 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots is laced with expressive red berries, flowers and mint, all of which come together in a high-toned expression of this site. The Suchots doesn’t quite have the minerality or verve of the Beaux Monts, but in exchange it should drink well earlier. Bright floral notes reappear to add lift on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Once again this year I tasted with Charles Van Canneyt, Alain Hudelot’s grandson. Yields were down 30% across the board, a significant drop but not terrible considering the year.
