A restrained style of Chardonnay, made from the new Dijon clone being planted in California and the Pacific Northwest, the 1997 Chardonnay Dijon Clone possesses a light to medium straw color, and a subdued nose that opens with airing to reveal scents of white corn, minerals, and buttery citrus-like fruit. The wine has zesty acidity, medium body, and a judicious touch of toasty oak. It should open and become more expressive with 2-3 more months of bottle age; it will keep for 3-4 years. Tel.
