The 2004 Cuvee Palomar consists of equal parts Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 18 months in French oak. Dark crimson-colored, the aromatics are slightly muted but notes of cedar, Asian spices, balsamic, black currant, and blackberry can be discerned. This is followed by a full-bodied, fleshy wine with firm tannins, spicy flavors, and a long, powerful finish. It will evolve for 4-6 years and drink well through 2020.
