The 2014 Redoma Reserva Branco is a field blend aged for ten months in French barriques (only 20% new). This was seen before in Porto, but it's worth another look in the USA as it has had some time to settle in the bottle. With that time in the bottle, this seems to have awakened. Fresh and crisp, tinged with a bit of lemon on opening, this is dramatically different than the others in Niepoort's white lineup this issue. If the Tiara emphasizes its tasty, sweet fruit and the Coche seems deep, round and somewhat brooding, this emphasizes its acidity. The acidity cuts through everything, makes the wine lively, especially for an oaked wine, and creates some tension on the finish. It is not out of control, though. This got better and better as it aired out, eventually showing nice balance. Fine on its own, but perhaps better with food, it is a Reserva that still has plenty of concentration and the stuffing to hold up to a food match. It should hold well in the cellar. If it develops well, it may yet be entitled to an uptick.
