The 2002 Auxey-Duresses Blanc Les Clous is a remarkably good wine considering it is already 14-years-old. It sports a pale, silvery hue. The nose displayed a slight reduction that renders it not too away from a Coche-Dury style, smoked walnut and shaved almond developing rapidly in the glass. The palate is well balanced and still seems to be in its prime. The oak is nicely integrated and whilst it does not possess the weight of a premier cru, the Chablis-like finish is lip-smackingly good. No more, no less than delicious. Tasted January 2016.
