While the Grands Echezeaux appears to be the best of these offerings, I had given it a potential rating of 93-94 when I tasted it out of cask in November, 1991. The color is no longer black/purple, but rather, a deep ruby. The nose is less profound, exhibiting aromas of spice and super-ripe plums. In the mouth, the wine is medium-bodied, with fine richness, a chewy, glycerin-imbued texture, and moderate tannins in the good to very good finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Various American importers.
