The 1999 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard boasts a phenomenal perfume of sweet white corn mixed with wet rocks, candied citrus, smoke, and tropical fruit. It is full-bodied, with remarkable length and intensity. This brilliant offering should last 5-6 years. Steve Kistler and his sidekick, Mark Bixler, feel that the key to making top quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in 2000 (an extremely cold year with higher acids) was patience.
