The 2010 Givry 1er Cru Crausot has an understated but well-defined bouquet of crushed rose petals infusing the bright red berry fruits. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins right from the start. Harmonious and composed, with tense red cherries and fresh strawberry toward the finish, this is pure Pinot Noir doing what it does best. Superb. Drink now-2018.
I rabbited on about my appreciation for the wines of Francois Lumpp in my main 2012 Burgundy report, but here are four vintages will a little age that are all worth seeking out. Personally, I prefer these wines in their flush of youth rather than affording them extended cellaring.
