One of the top successes of the appellation in this very good, yet very irregular vintage, the 1983 Clos des Jacobins is dark ruby, with an intense, supple, blackberry fruitiness, a lush, ripe, creamy, fat texture, moderate tannins, plenty of alcoholic punch, and a long finish. It has matured quickly. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 3/85.
