It has taken this property several decades to rebound following its sale by the Cordier family. Now under new ownership and with Hubert de Bouard consulting, the 2013, a blend of 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, aromas of vanillin, charcoal embers, black currants and sweet cherries, and a medium-bodied, surprisingly fleshy, succulent personality. Atypical for the vintage, this is a noteworthy success as well as a major sleeper of the vintage. It should sell for a realistic price when released in early 2015. Drink it over the next 7-10 years.
