The 2015 Nuits St Georges Village comes from parcels located close to Vosne-Romanée. It was showing a little sur-maturité on the nose with touches of fig and dates infusing the red cherry fruit. The palate is better and shows more freshness and balance. The acidity is nicely judged here and there is a tang of citrus fruit towards the confit-like, chalky-textured finish. It will require 2-3 years in bottle to find its groove, although there is good substance here, if not quite the refinement that would merit a higher evaluation.
