The 2009 Nebbiolo d’Alba is a surprisingly large-scaled wine in this vintage. Sweet red berries, flowers and spices burst from the glass in this exciting, racy Nebbiolo. There is plenty of varietal character in the glass, but everything is simply dialed up to a higher level than has often been the case in the past. A generous, sweeping finish rounds things out in style. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017. This strong set of wines from Poderi Colla is capped off by a truly great version of the flagship Barbaresco Roncaglie.
