The 2001 Hermitage possesses a classic feel in its blackcurrant, olive, underbrush and meaty personality. At the early stages of maturity, with medium-bodied richness, integrated acidity and a clean, lengthy finish, I don't see any upside, but it should hold nicely through 2021.

The 2001 Hermitage reveals plenty of cassis along with attractive oak notes, firm tannin, high acidity, and a fresh, medium to full-bodied style.
