The 2001 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee Nadal (equal parts Syrah and Grenache) is a big, exuberant effort revealing pure blackberry fruit intermixed with melted licorice and camphor notes. Full-bodied, fruit-driven, and layered, it is a delicious bistro red for drinking over the next 4-5 years. The Grenache component is aged in tank and then blended with the barrel-aged Syrah. There are 20,000 bottles of this cuvee. I can’t say enough about the efforts being made by proprietor Sebastien Vincenti.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
