The Chateau Berliquet 2014 is a blend of 75% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon picked October 1-17, at 30 hectoliters per hectare. It has a fragrant bouquet, one that is well defined, quite floral with wilted violet petals infusing the red and black cherries. This is nicely focused, aromatic and sensual. The palate is soft on the entry with crisp red berry fruit, a fine line of acidity and an endearing sense of harmony. There is just the right amount of reserve and dryness to urge you to take another sip. This is a stylish Berliquet from Nicolas Thienpont and his team.
