The 2004 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is the wine that formerly carried the “BG” designation as the estate’s entry-level Amarone. This is an accessible, fresh style of Amarone with well-delineated aromatics and plenty of clean, focused fruit. Medium in body, it offers outstanding finesse and depth on the palate. This bottling is aged in a combination of small and large barrels of various sizes. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014.
This is another superb set of wines from Tommaso Bussola. The highlights are the 2004 Amarones, which are phenomenal. Sadly, prices have become just as breathtaking as the wines themselves. Still, these are among the most unique wines being made anywhere. Bussola has delayed the release of his 2003 Amarones, as he feels they need more time.
