Mollard harvested his 1998 Batard-Montrachet at 13.4% natural potential alcohol. It is gorgeously ripe, exhibiting red berry, fresh earth, and mineral aromas. This broad, intense, powerful wine is medium to full-bodied, plump, fresh, and vibrant. Grilled buttered toast, minerals, and yellow fruits can be found throughout its expressive character and persistent finish. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2008.
