As he did with his Muscat, Francois Barmes crafted the 2000 Riesling Herrenweg de Turckheim from the grapes culled out for the Selection de Grains Nobles cuvee. It boasts an exuberant, mineral and stone-dominated nose as well as a powerful, extracted core of highly expressive gravel-like flavors. This medium-bodied wine has huge depth, an intense in-your-face character, and is exceptionally long in the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015.
