The 2018 Charmail is a blend of 39% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot. It was aged for around 12 months in 30% new oak barrels, 17-hectoliter concrete eggs and 500-liter barrels. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up vague stewed plums and cassis notes with hints of tobacco, new leather and sautéed herbs. The medium to full-bodied palate has a rugged frame of chewy tannins and herb-laced black fruits, finishing a little rustic.
