The 1991 Pinot Noir, the first wine made from Drouhin's own vineyard and completely vinified by his daughter, Veronique, is a major breakthrough for Drouhin's Oregon operation. I would boldly suggest that this wine is better than most of Drouhin's French Pinot Noir offerings. The color is nearly opaque dark ruby. The nose offers up splendidly ripe scents of black fruits, smoke, toasty oak, and minerals. Rich and medium to full-bodied, with layer upon layer of sweet fruit, this voluptuous, rich wine possesses the component parts to drink well young, but last for 7-8 years. Impressive!
