Medium garnet colored, the 2011 The Steading (a blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro) has a profoundly peppery nose with a core of dried cherries, raspberry preserves and potpourri. Medium to full-bodied, the palate packs the pepper into the red berry flavors with a good backbone of chewy tannins and lively acid before finishing long.
