Lively and rich, with serious length, the 2010 GSM checks in as a blend of 45% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre and 25% Syrah. Reticent and slightly backwards at first, it blossoms with air and delivers deep, layered aromas and flavors of black and red fruits, licorice, tree bark and hints of dark chocolate. Similarly styled on the palate, with a medium to full-bodied, concentrated feel, excellent acidity and plenty of ripe tannin, it should be given another year or two in bottle and drink nicely through 2020. Drink now-2020.
This up-and-coming estate is located on the west side of Paso Robles and continues to produce a bevy of brilliant Rhone blends. These 2010s are easily the best lineup I have tasted from the Tillman family and they warrant serious attention.
