The 1999 Cornas Les Terres Brulees' 2,200 case production is from the estate's younger vines. It offers both red and black currant aromas intertwined with mineral and smoke characteristics. New oak makes an appearance, but it is subtle. The wine is elegant and medium-bodied with a hint of tannin in the finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2014.
