The 2007 Sinforiano Raimun was sourced from 80-year-old vines and was aged for 12 months in French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up an already complex aromatic array of exotic spices, incense, violets, espresso, and blackberry. Dense and layered on the palate, it has enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years and will provide optimum drinking from 2012 to 2019.
Bodegas Sinforiano is a small family-owned and operated estate in the DO of Cigales north of the more celebrated DOs of Ribera del Duero and Toro. As in those two regions the principal grape variety is Tempranillo.
